Humanitarian Award Recipients

Clearwater, FL, December 16, 2015 — The American College of Nutrition (ACN) is proud to have announced Vitamin Angels and the Brain Health Education and Research Institute as the recipients of the Humanitarian Award at the ACN’s 56th annual conference that took place November 11-13, 2015, at the B Resort in Orlando, Florida. This special award acknowledges an individual or organization who has worked selflessly and effectively in the field of nutrition to benefit humanity.

Since 1994, Vitamin Angels has helped at-risk populations in need—specifically pregnant women, new mothers, and children under five—gain access to lifesaving and life changing vitamins and minerals. Vitamin Angels works to reach underserved communities across the U.S. and in more than 50 countries around the world to harnessthe power of vitamins as a solution to reduce global malnutrition. Since 2011, the Brain Health Education and Research Institute (BHERI) has sought to advance nutritional research in support of brain health. From proactively taking care of brain health on an ongoing basis, to post-injury treatment, to recovery, BHERI is committed to being at the forefront of research and education.
