Vitamin Angels Ranks Among Top 4% of Most Trustworthy Charities in America

SANTA BARBARA, CA, May 7, 2019 –Vitamin Angels is thrilled to be a recipient of its 8th 4-star rating, the highest value score available, from Charity Navigator (CN), the nation’s premier charity evaluator. CN assesses the financial health, accountability and transparency of over 9,000 charities across America to provide donors with unbiased and transparent information to make informed charitable giving decisions. Vitamin Angels is among the top 4% of CN-evaluated charities that have received 8 consecutive 4-star ratings, demonstrating an exceptional level of performance and trustworthiness.

“Our 4-star rating by Charity Navigator further displays our commitment to our donors to use their support in the most efficient and prudent way possible,” said Howard Schiffer, Vitamin Angels Founder & President. “This translates into us being able to fulfill our mission to reach millions of mothers, children and babies around the world whom need our help most.”

With over 90% of expenses, cash and gift-in-kind going towards program services, Vitamin Angels has reached over 250 million at-risk mothers and children with life-changing vitamins and minerals in the last 5 years alone.

“Only a quarter of charities rated by Charity Navigator receive the distinction of our 4-star rating,” said Michael Thatcher, President & CEO of Charity Navigator. “This adds Vitamin Angels to a preeminent group of charities working to overcome our world’s most pressing challenges.”

With this rating, donors can be confident that their support has a direct impact on the health of millions of mothers and children worldwide through Vitamin Angels’ programs. Currently, Vitamin Angels is leading the Global Prenatal Initiative, a global effort to reduce newborn mortality due to vitamin deficiency diseases.
