KEYT.com: Sheriff’s Office Receives Grant for Prenatal Vitamins for Pregnant Inmates

SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, Calif. – The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office will be able to provide prenatal vitamins to incarcerated women who are being released from jail.

Vitamin Angels, a global charity based in Santa Barbara, awarded the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office with a six-month supply of prenatal vitamins.

The organization helps at-risk people in need get access to vitamins and mineral. The charity primarily serves pregnant women, new mothers and children under five, according to a press release from the sheriff’s office.

Representatives from the organization delivered the vitamins to the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office headquarters in person earlier this week. The sheriff’s office says they are grateful for the opportunity to provide the resource to those in need.
