SANTA BARBARA, CA., January 20, 2020. – Vitamin Angelsa global public health organization working to end malnutrition worldwide by distributing life-changing vitamins and minerals to undernourished pregnant women and children, announced that Dr. Kristen M. Hurley has been named Senior Vice President of Nutrition, effective immediately. This announcement comes just three months after her promotion to Associate Professor at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.

Dr. Hurley will continue to oversee Vitamin Angels strategic programming at the global level and lead the acceleration and scale up of Vitamin Angels’ multiple micronutrient supplementation (MMS) program. She will also oversee Vitamin Angels’ long-term impact initiatives including creating global demand for MMS, influencing policy change regarding MMS, and ensuring a global supply of MMS.

In the same month, Vitamin Angels also announced the appointment of two new members to their Board of Advisors: John Petrovich, CEO of The Alfred Mann Foundation for Scientific Research and Felicia Ciaccio, Vice President of Business Development at Impulse Health.

John Petrovich joins the Vitamin Angels Board of Advisors with over twenty years of experience in private practice as a corporate finance lawyer and ten years of senior executive experience in biotech and biomedical companies, including serving as CEO of Insert Therapeutics, Inc. and Calando Pharmaceuticals Inc., both startup organizations launched out of Caltech to develop cancer therapeutics. John is current CEO and General Counsel at The Alfred E Mann Foundation for Scientific Research, a nonprofit medical research organization.  

Felicia Ciaccio brings over 10 years of retails sales experience to Vitamin Angels’ Board of Advisors. She has demonstrated experience in growing company revenue and establishing strategic, profitable partnerships between retailers and vendors. Previously, she was the Divisional Merchandise Manager, Wellness at Walgreens.

Both John and Felicia are passionate about helping vulnerable mothers and children receive life-changing supplements and are committed to leveraging their networks to fundraise, build brand partnerships, and provide strategic advisement in their respective areas of expertise to further grow Vitamin Angels’ nutrition intervention programs and global business.
