Chennai: Vitamin Angels India, a non-profit organisation, has tied up with the Puducherry government to bring down malnutrition and child mortality rates in the union territory.
Apart from providing Vitamin A and Albendazole tablets for children under five years, the organisation would also extend technical assistance to frontline health workers in Puducherry through comprehensive training on implementing nutritional programmes under the initiative, read a press release.
The NFHS-5 data indicates that the union territory is on track to achieve the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals.
Through the initiative, the union territory government aims to reach all children under five across Mahe, Karaikal, Puducherry and Yanam districts with evidence-based nutrition interventions with the support provided by Vitamin Angels.
