As the India communication and marketing manager, Osama Salman looks after the social media accounts of Vitamin Angels in India, external and internal communication, Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) material, and collects content on the field through photos and videos to promote and leverage the organization’s work in India.

Joining the social sector, Osama worked as a journalist for over a decade in leading media houses and independent news organizations in India such as Hindustan Times, The Hindu, and Scroll.in, among others. At Hindustan Times where he worked in two separate stints across different time periods, Osama handled the top news stories as a Page 1 editor and managed the social media accounts of the organization. While working as a reporter (and later editor) for The Hindu, one of the most respected newspapers in Asia, he focussed on community-centric stories and issues related to human rights, education, and heritage. His experience has allowed him to build a network of sources – including government officials, bureaucrats, and local leaders.

Osama says that working for over 11 years has made him cynical on two things — news and biryani (he strongly advocates that biryani made in Hyderabad, his hometown, is the best)! When not working, he likes to cook, doomscroll Twitter and Reels, and eternally ‘plan’ the next holiday.
