Riley Auer, MSPH

Riley Auer, MSPH is a researcher with expertise in behavioral science, maternal and child nutrition, and collaboration, learning, and adaptation for public health programs. In her role at Vitamin Angels, Riley provides technical assistance to Social and Behavior Change (SBC) and Implementation Science activities that aim to strengthen maternal, infant, and young child nutrition and micronutrient supplementation programs in sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia.

Riley joined Vitamin Angels in 2024 with more than 7 years of global public health experience. Prior to joining our Programs team, Riley provided technical and managerial guidance to an array of formative and implementation research activities focused on the intersection of SBC and global health as a Technical Specialist for JSI’s Behavior Initiative. Under USAID Advancing Nutrition, she led Implementation Research activities in Zimbabwe and Malawi which leveraged human-centered design to strengthen intervention quality for US Government-funded nutrition programs. While supporting the Institute for International Programs at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, she supported projects to generate evidence and evaluate nutrition programs.

She has contributed as a thought leader to technical guidance, technical working groups, and communities of practice focused on nutrition data; monitoring, evaluation, adaptation, and learning; and SBC. Most recently, she served as the co-chair of the Nutrition Data Partners Group, a global body of technical experts and funders of nutrition data value chains.

Riley has a Master of Science in Public Health from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. In her spare time, she enjoys exploring nature with her friends, planting trees with her community, and making art of all kinds.
