SANTA BARBARA, CA, November 30, 2015 – Vitamin Angels announced today that Giving Tuesday, taking place on December 1, will mark the beginning of their 2015 holiday fundraising effort. Funds raised in December will support the charity’s work – providing vitamins and minerals to mothers and children in need of nutritional support in the US and around the world. All donations made on Giving Tuesday will be matched up to $100,000 by an anonymous donor. Individuals who give $150 or more on Giving Tuesday will receive a special calendar featuring photos from Vitamin Angels’ award-winning photographer, Matt Dayka.
By leveraging the momentum for charitable giving following the start of the holiday season, Vitamin Angels will bring its mission to a wider audience. With a newly redesigned website and addition of a text-to-give donation option, Vitamin Angels is making it easier than ever for individuals to support its cause. Donors who want to participate in the new text-to-give option can do so by texting “GIVE BACK” to 52000 following the prompts to donate $10 to Vitamin Angels.
“The end of the year is a fantastic time to give to Vitamin Angels,” said Howard Schiffer, president and founder of Vitamin Angels. “All year long I’ve seen the power of vitamins changing children’s lives. Thanks to our matching donor, individuals can double the power of their gift today. Everyone can feel good about giving, and that is really what the holidays are all about.”
For individuals looking for an alternative holiday gift, making a donation to Vitamin Angels that improves the life of another is a truly special way to honor a loved one. Individuals can also support Vitamin Angels while they shop this holiday season when they make purchases with Vitamin Angels’ corporate partners. A complete list of companies that sell products from which a portion of the proceeds go to support Vitamin Angels can be found on the Vitamin Angels website at www.vitaminangels.org/current-supporters.
