SANTA BARBARA, CA, August 6, 2015 – Vitamin World, a leading health and wellness company, has announced that it will hold a two month-long fundraising campaign for Vitamin Angels to support the nonprofit in the fight against undernutrition in the U.S. and around the world. Throughout the months of August and September, Vitamin World, in nearly 400 of their stores across the U.S., will ask customers to participate by donating at the register, with each donation going to support Vitamin Angels and its work globally. The campaign will run August 1- September 30.
“Vitamin World has long believed that undernutrition is a problem we can change, together, through vitamin supplementation,” said Vicki McGuire, Senior Vice President for Vitamin World.
A supporter of Vitamin Angels since 2008, Vitamin World values the partnership with Vitamin Angels as a way to address the serious problem of undernutrition. According to The Lancet, undernutrition is the most common underlying cause of preventable child deaths worldwide. Making vitamins available to children in need is the most immediate and cost-effective way to create a healthier world.
Vitamin Angels provides critically needed vitamins and minerals to undernourished children and mothers worldwide. The organization also works to educate moms about the importance of breastfeeding and proper nutrition, and helps reduce infection and improve absorption of vitamins with deworming treatments for young children.
