Before joining Vitamin Angels, Sam served as Chief Financial Officer at Medical Teams International, where he provided strategic financial leadership during a period of industry-wide shifts and organizational change. He played a key role in further strengthening the financial foundation of the organization and positioning it for greater resilience and long-term sustainability, while maintaining a strong focus on mission delivery. Throughout his career, Sam has combined disciplined financial stewardship with an entrepreneurial mindset, building and transforming systems that enable scale, financial health, and impact. Earlier in his career, he held senior leadership roles across private sector and non-governmental organizations, overseeing finance, contracts, and global operations across a diverse international portfolio.
Over the past two decades, Sam has built finance functions in complex settings, implemented enterprise-wide systems, and developed multi-year financial models and cost recovery frameworks that support sustainability and unlock new funding opportunities. His experience spans multi-country operations and collaboration with government, institutional, and private donors, ensuring that financial rigor translates into the consistent delivery of life-saving programs. Earlier in his career, he founded and led his own government contracting business, reinforcing his bias for action, accountability, and practical problem-solving.
