On Giving Tuesday, November 28th, The Vitamin Shoppe® (NYSE:VSI), an omni-channel, specialty retailer and manufacturer of nutritional products, and long-time charitable partner of the charity, Vitamin Angels will launch its bi-annual fundraising campaign to end malnutrition. The two organizations have been working together for more than 10 years to raise awareness and provide life-changing vitamins to mothers and children in the US and around the world.
This year, The Vitamin Shoppe stores nationwide will enhance its fundraising capabilities by enlisting the help of customers through its Community Mission to End Malnutrition Campaign. Each store will give five of its most passionate Wellness Partners and customers kits to raise funds on behalf of Vitamin Angels and spread its mission out into the community. Unlike past fundraising initiatives, this campaign is designed to allow customers to play a more significant role in the awareness-building process, while showcasing the unique relationship each Health Enthusiast has with their community members.
“We have been devoted supporters of Vitamin Angels for many years but this is the first time in the history of our partnership that we have involved the community in such an immersive fashion,” says Doug Jones Chief Merchandising Officer at The Vitamin Shoppe. “The tremendous efforts of our passionate Health Enthusiasts and our customers has enabled us to greatly impact the health and wellbeing of so many mothers and children from around the globe. We are proud to give the gift of nutrition to those in need and are excited to continue to enhance lives through our meaningful work with Vitamin Angels.”
Commenting on behalf of Vitamin Angels, Founder and President Howard Schiffer says, “We are, year over year, blown away by the commitment of Health Enthusiasts and Vitamin Shoppe Customers to get children and mothers the nutritional support they need. The Community Mission to End Malnutrition represents a new and exciting next step in an already amazing partnership – whether with us in the field in Uganda, where we went with them earlier this year, or on their store floors, The Vitamin Shoppe team never fails to show their passion as champions of health.”
The Community Mission to End Malnutrition campaign begins Tuesday, November 28th as part of #GivingTuesday and will run for the full month of December. After the campaign, each store will honor its customers and community fundraising partners in an exclusive celebration to be announced at a later date. Those interested in joining the campaign as a community fundraising partner are encouraged to stop by their local The Vitamin Shoppe store to speak with a Health Enthusiast.
