Vitamin Angels to Be Present for Historic 100th Running of the Indy 500

Santa Barbara, CA – Vitamin Angels, a 501(c)(3) charity that provides vitamins and minerals to mothers and children in need of nutritional support in the US and around the world, will have a presence at the historic 100th running of the Indy 500 to meet race goers in the state where it serves more than 8,000 women and children. Throughout the race weekend, May 27-29, the charity will run promotional ads outside the entrance to race track, promoting its work to fans attending the event. A ground team will be on site to educate race goers about its work domestically and internationally, and to raise additional funds. Individuals interested in making a donation can visit the charity’s website by visiting

We partner with a wonderful variety of organizations in Indiana – everything from WIC offices, community health clinics, pregnancy resource centers, and even a diaper bank,” said Ann Micka, Domestic Program Manager for Vitamin Angels. “There’s a lot of grassroots effort to help improve maternal and child health throughout the state, and we’re so happy to be a part of that work.

In 2014, a reported 14% of households (or 50 million Americans) were classified as food insecure. To help meet the nutritional needs of pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers, Vitamin Angels collaborates with pregnancy centers, health clinics and food banks across the US to provide prenatal vitamins to underserved women free of cost.

Vitamin Angels currently provides prenatal multivitamins to 11 partner organizations in Indiana. In total, the state receives the third largest disbursement of multivitamin grants from Vitamin Angels in the US. Vitamin Angels hopes to highlight the opportunity for other Indiana-based nonprofits to apply for and receive vitamin grants.
